** Important Announcement **
In accordance with the agreement of the Executive Board of the CDM (the Board) at its 118th meeting (see meeting report, paragraph 5(b)), requests for registration, renewal of crediting period, and issuance of certified emission reductions relating to the period after 2020, as well as corresponding submissions for programmes of activities, may no longer be submitted under the temporary measures operated by the Board based on its agreement at its 108th meeting. The submission window closed on 30 June 2023.
These submissions may be submitted under the Article 6.4 mechanism once its activity cycle becomes operational. For more details on the process and conditions for such submissions, please follow the consideration by the Supervisory Body on the development of the Article 6.4 mechanism activity cycle during its meetings.
The Supervisory Body for the Article 6.4 mechanism, at its sixth meeting, adopted the standard and procedure for the transition of CDM activities to the Article 6.4 mechanism, elaborating the eligibility, requirements, and process for finalizing requests that were submitted under the temporary measures and listed as provisional (provisional requests).
In light of this, the Board, at its 119th meeting, adopted a revised clarification on the temporary measures, including the implications of the transition standard and procedure, and the decision of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol at its sixteenth session, on provisional requests.
