First prize: Sudipto Das

CDM Project:  9408: Bundled Wind Power Project in Barmer and Jaisalmer, Rajasthan

Photographer’s Bio: Sudipto Das is a self-taught photographer currently working as senior photojournalist for The Times of India, a leading news daily in India. He has previously worked for the Associated Press, the European Press Photo Agency, BBC News online, SPAN(India) and India Today. His works have appeared in publications such as CITY(USA), MILK(New Zealand), The National(UAE), and Passport Magazine (Singapore). He has received more than 100 international awards, while his works have been presented in collective exhibitions in USA, Netherlands, UK, Portugal, Indonesia, Japan, Slovenia, China, Switzerland, Germany, UAE, Mexico, Greece and Singapore.

 

Second prize: Jaydip Bhattacharya

CDM Project: 0711: Mysore Cements Limited Portland Slag Cement project (India)

Photo Description: in a crasher

Photographer’s Bio: Jaydip Bhattacharya studied bio-science and became a teacher but he is also an avid amateur photographer. Apart from bio-science, he also teaches zoology and environmental science in a secondary school in India. He is deeply interested in environmental issues and believes that his country needs more regulation to protect the environment. He became interested in the CDM when he saw the announcement about the photo contest.

 

Third prize: Subodh Naatu 

CDM Project: 5863: Wind Energy Project in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh (India)

Photo Description: A boy enjoying in natural environment with new wind power project
Photographer’s Bio: Subodh Naatu was born in 1969 in Jabalpur, India. Although he earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Jabalpur University, he has always been interested in photography. He has been working in photo finishing and photography since 1990 and has received numerous national and international awards.
