1. The DOE shall clarify how it has verified the monitoring of the moisture of solid manure piles as the verification report (page A-40) states that all solid manure waste is “disposed anaerobically”, while the monitoring of this parameter is to “prevent the material from entering anaerobic conditions” (page 6 of PDD). OTHER ISSUES 2. Corrections shall be made throughout the verification and certification reports: the ending date of the monitoring period should be 31 August 2007, instead of 30 September 2008. 3. The DOE shall clarify what equipment was used to monitor the swine herd inventories since it verified this equipment was calibrated according to the requirement of the approved monitoring plan (page 10 of verification report).
