The DOE is requested to clarify how it verified that the most conservative assumption was correctly applied regarding the calculation of the methane fraction in the landfill gas (wCH4) for the month of July, 2010, considering that applying the same weight to the weekly (discounted) value as for daily values of methane fraction would result in the overestimation of the wCH4 in the estimation of lower bound of 95% confidence interval, as compared to the one that would result from applying the correct weight for each value.
