Additional information | |
1) The DOE shall further substantiate on how the project fulfills the applicability condition of the applied methodology (bullet no.6, page 2) which states that the emissions reductions are limited to the existing rated capacity of carbonization units, whereas the provided capacity appears to be estimated based on the new kilns to be added and the exisiting kilns to be reformed (considering the amount of plantations available in the 22 preserved farms and the forecast of the future charcoal demand from the pig iron production) which is not allowed under the applied methodology AM0041. Please refer to VVM (version 1.2), paragraph 71 - 75; AM0041 ( page no 2, bullet point no.6). 2) The DOE shall further validate the determination of the baseline emission factor (EFCH4,BL) and the number of kilns (K) considering the DOE has not provided justification on: 1) how the emission factor determined based on kilns located in 9 farms is also applicable to those located in the other 13 farms; and 2) how the baseline emission factor determined based on kiln FR 190 was considered applicable to the emission reduction calculation of kiln FR 390. Please refer to VVM (version 1.2), paragraph 91. |
