Propose a new methodology for afforestation and reforestation project activities

- Project participants willing to validate / register a CDM A/R project activity shall:
- use a A/R methodology previously approved by the Executive Board;
or - propose a new A/R methodology to the Executive Board for consideration and approval, if appropriate
- Submit proposed new methodologies for afforestation and reforestation project activities:
- Project participants may propose a new A/R methodology by submitting the project design document for A/R CDM projects (F-CDM-AR-PDD) and the "Proposed new baseline and monitoring methodologies for A/R form"(CDM-AR-NM) to a designated operational entity (DOE)
- The DOE contracted by the project participants checks the completeness of the received documents, completes the "Proposed New A/R Methodology Form" (F-CDM-AR-NM) and submits the documentation through the dedicated electronic interface for submitting A/R proposed new methodologies to the secretariat
- The secretariat, in consultation with the afforestation and reforestation working group (A/R WG), undertakes an initial assessment of the proposed A/R methodology according to the criteria in the "Proposed new A/R methodology assessment form" (F-CDM-AR-NMas)
- Submissions which have been assessed as qualified are published on the UNFCCC website with a unique reference number, and public comments, using the form (F-CDM-AR-NMpu), are being invited for a period of 15 days.
