Call for public inputs on further expansion of applicability of AMS-III.AJ "Recovery and recycling of materials from solid wastes"
The Executive Board, at its fifty-ninth meeting, agreed to open a call for public inputs on AMS-III.AJ in order to explore opportunities to further expand this methodology to cover more recyclable materials.
Specific issues to be covered include, but are not limited to:
1. Recyclable materials and project types that are suitable for
implementation under the CDM (e.g other plastic types, paper, glass,
metals, textiles, and tyres);
2. Methods to show product equivalence of recycled and virgin materials
(e.g intrinsic viscosity for PET plastic, degradation discount);
3. Default values for embedded emissions/energy for each of the virgin
raw materials and recycled materials or alternatively sources of such
data or standardised methods to determine such values;
The inputs provided will be considered by the Small Scale Working Group of the Executive Board at its thirty-first meeting.
Public comments were open from 18 February 2011 to 18 March 2011.
