Please elaborate the reason for requesting a review on the issues you indicated in section 2 above

1) Refer to paragraph: paragraph 24(b) of Standard for Sampling and surveys for CDM project activities and programmes of activities (version 08.0), and paragraph 35 of Guideline Sampling and surveys for CDM project activities and programmes of activities (version 04.0)

As per the monitoring plan, parameter ETUsage,y (Average daily denatured alcohol usage by project participating households in year y) will be obtained by annually monitoring the denatured alcohol consumption of the sampled households over 7-day monitoring period. The CME and DOE are requested to explain how the 7-day period of monitoring will represent the consumption for the whole year.

 

2) Refer to paragraph: paragraph 378 of VVS-PoA and paragraph 3 of AMS-III.AV (version 08.0)

One of the technologies for community-based water purification system described in the PoA-DD is boreholes and wells (Soil filtration schemes). Pages 15 and 62 of the PoA-DD state that the boreholes and wells (Soil filtration schemes) may include container disinfection solutions.  The DOE is requested to explain how optional container disinfection for soil filtration schemes to be implemented under the PoA, as indicated by statement “The boreholes and wells (Soil filtration schemes) may include container disinfection solutions”,  is in line with paragraph 3 of AMS-III.AV (version 08.0) which requires soil filtration schemes (boreholes, wells) to include container disinfection.

 

3) Refer to paragraph: paragraph 378 of VVS-PoA

The CME and DOE are requested to explain how the statement on page 7 of the PoA-DD, i.e. “The technology deployed, based on local conditions, shall be identified and described at the time of CPA implementation and inclusion and/or shall be described as part of the monitoring process, for each household selected for monitoring.” is in line with paragraph 159(e) of PS-PoA (version 02.0) which requires CME to provide information regarding the technologies/measures to be employed and/or implemented by the CPA in the CPA-DD, including the facilities, systems and equipment that will be installed, types and levels of services, arrangement of the facilities, systems and equipment, age and average lifetime of the equipment, etc.
