SSC_473: Clarification on the applicability of AMS-II.C to project activities which involve installation of water saving devices

Final response

The Board considered the recommendation of the SSC WG with regard to clarification request SSC_473. The Board requested the SSC WG to consider that "water output" in paragraph 2 of AMS-II.C is in the specific context of an efficient water pump replacing an inefficient water pump. In the case of water saving devices that reduce domestic use of hot water heated via fossil fuels or electricity the consideration of level of service may be based on comfort and cleaning service provided by the appliance/equipment as per an applicable standard. The Board also requested the SSC WG to continue to consider the case based on any further input by the project proponents and/or experts and make a recommendation to the Board at a future meeting (see para. 53 of the report of EB 58).
