Submission incomplete:
1: The DOE is requested to describe how each applicability condition of the methodology/ies is fulfilled by the project activity as per VVM v1.2 paragraph 76.
In doing so the DOE shall i) report how it ascertained that the refrigerators reported in the GfK data list were sold in India and not exported considering that the applied methodology does not account for exported refrigerators, and ii) provide information on the sales volumes for years 2006, 2007 and 2008 as reported in the validation report page 17.
2: The DOE is requested to describe if the methodology is correctly applied to determine the most plausible baseline scenario as per VVM v1.2 paragraph 87 (e).
In doing so the DOE shall report:
1. how it validated the exclusion of the imported refrigerators from the market data list as the raw data from GfK (base year 2008) does not identify the units imported and sold in India,
2. how the applied methodology sub-steps 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 were complied with considering that:
i) models with the lower market share were considered for establishing the market benchmark,
ii) specific electricity consumption for each identified model was not determined from (i) above,
iii) sample group (refrigerator model “n”) was not determined from (ii) above, and
iv) market benchmark for year 2008 was not determined from sample group (model n).
3. the buyer identification (name and address) and information on the sales dates for the manufacturer data; and how it was ascertained that the reported sales to the buyers was not subsequently exported (please refer to AM0070 v,3 sub-step 2.1).
3: The DOE is requested to describe the steps taken to assess the equations applied to calculate the baseline/ project emissions, leakage and emission reductions as per the chosen methodology as per VVM v1.2 paragraph 92.
In doing so the DOE is requested to confirm if the historical reference period (defined by “k”) in the equations (23) and (24) of the applied methodology was taken into account in calculating the manufacturer benchmark for the vintage year “v” (please refer to emissions reductions v.3; baseline emissions workbook).
4: The DOE is requested to state if all values used in the PDD for the emission reduction calculations are reasonable as per VVM v1.2 paragraph 92 (c).
In doing so the DOE shall report the conservativeness of the sales volume of 1,517,546 units for project year 2009 considering that GfK market research data (2008) indicated 746, 996 units and a yearly market growth rate of 8% has been assumed.
5: The DOE is requested to report if it has applied standard auditing techniques to review formulae used and the correctness of the calculations as per VVM v1.2, paragraph, 33(d).
In doing so the DOE is requested to review the baseline emission calculation as it appears that on the emission reduction sheet v.3 (baseline emission workbook) the manufacturer data has been linked to market data ( cell AJ41(Manufacturer data) links to cell X5 and finally to benchmark!C12 (market data)).
