Proposed new methodologies submitted / Approved methodologies for CDM project activities available

Please be informed that:

(1) The following proposed new baseline and monitoring methodologies have been re-submitted for consideration of the CDM Executive Board and the Meth Panel:

- NM0017-rev: "Steam System Efficiency Improvements in Refineries in Fushun, China"
- NM0034-rev2: "Granja Becker Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Mitigation Project"

(2) The following proposed new baseline and monitoring methodologies have been submitted to the CDM Executive Board for its review and are available for public input:

- NM0040: "Replacement of Fossil Fuel by Palm Kernel Shell Biomass in the production of Portland Cement"
- NM0057: "PFC Emission reductions through installation of point brak feeders (PBF) in horizontal stud Soderberg (HSS) cells aluminum plants"
- NM0058: "Energy Efficiency Improvements-Hou Ma District Heating, Shanxi Province, China"
- NM0059: "Optimization and Co-Generation of Energy from Steel Making Process - energy co-generation from steel making gas recovery"
- NM0060: "Dan Chang Bio-Energy Cogeneration project (DCBC)"
- NM0061: "N2O Emission Reduction in Onsan, South Korea"
- NM0062: "APCL Electricity Generation Project with Cleaner Fuel"
- NM0063: "Organic Green Waste Composting"
- NM0064: "Optimization and Co-Generation of Energy from Steel Making Process - electric energy consumption reduction in steel process"

In accordance with the “procedures for submission and consideration of a proposed new methodology”(ver 05) the secretariat shall make the proposed new methodology publicly available on the UNFCCC CDM web site and invite public inputs for a period of 15 working days. Public inputs on a proposed new methodology shall be made using the “Proposed new methodology - public comment form”(F-CDM-NMpu ver3). Comments shall be forwarded to the Meth Panel at the moment of receipt and made available to the public at the end of the 15 working day period.

(3) The reformatted versions of two approved baseline and monitoring methodologies along with sectoral scopes to which each methodology is linked with, are now available on the UNFCCC CDM web site.

The two approved baseline and monitoring methodologies are following:

- AM0010: "Landfill gas capture and electricity generation projects where landfill gas capture is not mandated by law"
- AM0011: "Landfill gas recovery with electricity generation and no capture or destruction of methane in the baseline scenario"
