The project participants have chosen option I under paragraph 72(a) of the Tool to calculate emission factor for an electricity system (version 07.0) to calculate the Build Margin emission factor for the project activity. As per this option of the Tool, for the third crediting period, the Built Margin emission factor calculated for the second crediting period should be used. However, it is observed that for the third crediting period, the Build Margin Emission Factor has been updated based on the most recent information, i.e. CEA CO2 Baseline Database version 15. The DOE is requested to clarify how it has validated the correctness of the application of the Tool to calculate the build margin emission factor for an electricity system (version 07.0).
