New videos showcase CDM benefits

Two short videos featuring project participants of the Humbo Assisted Natural Regeneration Project (CDM Project 2712) are now available for viewing online.

The short videos feature two local farmers, Bedebo Banta and Aster Tantu, who have benefited from working on the Humbo project.

The Humbo project has just become the first forest regeneration activity in Africa to receive temporary certified emission reductions (tCERs). The project, based in rural southwestern Ethiopia, successfully restored 2,728 hectares of forest through the involvement of community cooperatives. The 73,000 carbon credits were issued in October 2012 and purchased by the World Bank’s BioCarbon Fund.
