Call for input on the draft revision of the methodologies (ACM0025, ACM0026, AM0018, AM0042, AM0045, AM0052, AM0058, AM0059, AM0060) to refer to revised methodological tools (29 April to 14 May 2016, 24:00 GMT)

Call for input on the draft revision of the methodologies (ACM0025, ACM0026, AM0018, AM0042, AM0045, AM0052, AM0058, AM0059, AM0060) to identify the ones that could refer to the revised “Methodological tool: Baseline, project and/or leakage emissions from electricity consumption and monitoring of electricity generation” as well as “Methodological tool: Assessment of the validity of the original/current baseline and update of the baseline at the renewal of the crediting period” and “Methodological tool: Determining the baseline efficiency of thermal or electric energy generation systems”

The MP was seeking inputs on revision of the methodologies:

(a) "ACM0025: Construction of a new natural gas power plant” MP69 Annex 4

(b) "ACM0026: Fossil-fuel based cogeneration for identified recipient facility(ies)“ MP69 Annex 5

(c) "AM0018: Baseline methodology for steam optimization systems” MP69 Annex 6

(d) "AM0037: Flare (or vent) reduction and utilization of gas from oil wells, as a feedstock”MP69 Annex 7

(e) "AM0045: Grid connection of isolated electricity systems”MP69 Annex 8

(f) "AM0052: Increased electricity generation from existing hydropower stations through Decision Support System optimization” MP69 Annex 9

(g) "AM0058: Introduction of a district heating system” MP69 Annex 10

(h) "AM0059: Reduction in GHGs emission from primary aluminium smelters” MP69 Annex 11

(i) "AM0060: Power saving through replacement by energy efficient chillers” MP69 Annex 12

The Board requested the MP at its 87th meeting (EB87 report, para. 45) review approved methodologies to identify the ones that could refer to the revised “Methodological tool: Baseline, project and/or leakage emissions from electricity consumption and monitoring of electricity generation” and “Methodological tool: Tool to determine the mass flow of a greenhouse gas in a gaseous stream”, with the view to ensuring consistent guidance in the methodologies and the methodological tools.

Stakeholders were invited to provide their inputs on the draft revision of the methodologies, in the commenting table found here.

The scope of the public input included but was not limited to text highlighted in the draft revision of the methodologies.

The call for inputs from stakeholders was open from 29 April to 14 May 2016 (24:00GMT).

The public inputs will be taken into account when preparing the draft revised methodologies to be recommended to the Board at a future meeting.
