Appendix A of the modalities and procedures for a CDM Decision 3/CMP.1 contain standards for accreditation of operational
entities. The Executive Board is responsible for the operationalization of
accreditation procedure and standards.
The Executive Board, in accordance with its workplan, agreed on the adoption
of following documents to operationalize the accreditation process for operational
entities and contain elaborations of the standards;
The requirements for the operational entities are contained in many documents which
poses difficulties to applicant entities in referring to these documents. The CDM accreditation
panel compiled the information related to key requirements for the operational entities in this document.
This document is published for convenience only. Other documents
approved by CMP or the Executive Board before and after the issuing of this document
include information relevant for the duties of Designated Operational Entities and hence, the
Designated Operational Entities therefore have to be aware of existing relevant documents and
ensure that they are up to date with all relevant information. In case of dispute, the
CDM M&P and other documents approved by CMP or the Executive Board should be referred to;
The panel has provided clarifications/guidance, circulated through written e-mails,
on issues related to accreditaion process. The document below contains an up to date list of
all clarifications/guidance provided by the panel.
The panel decided to compile all docuemnts related to CDM accreditation requirements, including
requirements for CDM operational entities as well as procedures for accreditation, clarifications
as well as forms used in the accreditation process. This handbook neither replaces nor adds/deletes
any parts of these requirements and procedures for accreditation, which are approved by CMP or
the Executive Board. It has been published for convenience of users only. In case of dispute,
the CDM M&P and other documents approved by CMP or the Executive Board should be referred to.
