CDM International Photo and Video Contest launched

The UNFCCC secretariat is pleased to launch the CDM International Photo and Video Contest 2010, on the theme Changing Lives.

The contest is intended to raise awareness about the Kyoto Protocol's clean development mechanism.

We will be looking for photos and videos that tell an interesting CDM story, whether it is about the creation of new jobs, the greening of industry, or the development of rural services and infrastructure. The secretariat will begin accepting entries on 20 August.

The winning works will be displayed at the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico, at the end of the year, when the countries of the world will be working hard to deliver a global deal on climate change.

The contest is open to any photographer or digital video producer, amateur and professional, but entries must be associated with a registered CDM project. The deadline for submissions is 20 October 2010.
