“CDM in Africa – Finance and Support” – updated version now available

The latest (2013) version of the UNFCCC-booklet “CDM in Africa – Finance and Support” is now available for download and free distribution.

In line with the objectives of the Nairobi Framework to help under-represented countries access the benefits of the clean development mechanism (CDM), this booklet provides a brief overview of available funding and technical support opportunities for CDM projects in Africa

The first version was distributed at the Africa Carbon Forum in Addis Ababa in April 2012, in order to spread the word about the various support initiatives provided to African CDM project developers, as a starting point for more detailed research.

Further to UNFCCC initiatives, it briefly introduces the relevant World Bank initiatives, the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) African Carbon Support Programme (ACSP), the Africa Carbon Asset Development Initiative (ACAD), the Intra-ACP Climate Support Facility (CSF), the African Biofuels and Renewable Energy Fund (ABREF), UNDP’S Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Carbon, and Germany’s POA Support Facilities.

The updated booklet can be downloaded from here:
