Come to Marrakesh to learn about investment, finance and development opportunities through international climate action and national climate contributions

The 7th Africa Carbon Forum (ACF) offers a comprehensive programme for project developers and policymakers on the latest investment, finance and development opportunities relating to climate change.

This year's event will feature a high-level ministerial segment hosted by the Government of Morocco, which will provide a forum for African governments to discuss their expectations and planned contributions to an international climate change agreement in Paris in December.

Reasons to participate in ACF 2015

Participants will be briefed and receive training on:
• Identification of Intended Nationally Determined Contributions to climate change action – challenges and opportunities
• Trends in international carbon markets
• Finance and project opportunities, for example from the Green Climate Fund
• Efforts to increase demand for carbon credits generated by the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
• Opportunities in results-based financing
• . . . and much more!

Finance for climate-resilient development

This year is crucial as countries around the world work towards an international climate change agreement in Paris. A central pillar of that agreement will be how to ensure adequate investment and finance for climate-resilient development. As such, facilitating identification of Intended Nationally Determined Contributions to climate change action and their related challenges and opportunities, with special focus on markets and finance, will be a key feature of ACF 2015.

Network building

The Africa Carbon Forum has been pivotal in connecting project developers with foreign investors, carbon market representatives and government representatives, engaging Africa in the global climate finance process. For progressive African policymakers, the annual forum has been a “must-attend” event, critical for keeping up with the latest on climate finance, carbon markets and mechanisms.
Now in its seventh year, ACF is clearly the best opportunity for policymakers, business people and public sector officials to build their professional and business networks in Africa.
